editI came here looking for more information about this play. Finding very little, I decided to start this article with the hopes that their are others who are more knowledgeable than I. --Jeiki Rebirth (talk) 04:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Misrepresentation of Marx's Ideas
editIn this play, Zinn describes Marx's PhD Thesis as being on "Democritus and Heraclitus" yet the actual thesis was on "Democritus and Epicurus". Why the replacement of Epicurus by Heraclitus in the play so as to misrepresent the historical record? It is known that traditionally the Apikorsim (Epicureans) were hated by the Jews for their dismissal of the gods as being unconcerned in human affairs. Seems that, as an anarchist, he is trying to rewrite Marx's history in the interests of another agenda. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.166.11.12 (talk) 02:49, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
