Neutrality

edit

This article could really do with being more neutral. In particular, the sources used are all very one-sided and some more mainstream news sources would be a big improvement. Looking at google and google news, I'm having trouble finding any. --BelovedFreak 21:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, it's better now. --BelovedFreak 00:46, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
this article is a joke, i literally have to remove the guilt-by-assosiation fallacy with conservatives/right-wingers on the article, Wikipedia has become a joke, "oh you think this is a hate-crime? guess what? some conservatives somewhere also do, so that makes the view of her murder as a hate-crime a right-wing view therefore is not valid". and they still think is website is not left-leaning or anti-christian, and before you ask, i'm apolitical, not a conservative. 2804:6A00:F017:2200:19:5ACC:C622:658A (talk) 20:30, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The fact is that the guy killed Mary because she disapproved of his homosexual lifestyle and urged him to change. You might not agree with that, but hey free speech right? Not when it comes to gays apparently. He killed her. And then someone made very sure that there was no real mention of why she died in this article. Any attempts to state the facts are immediately deleted. Shades of 1984. But we do remember her and we remember that she was a victim of a hate crime perpetrated by a homosexual because of her Catholic faith. May she rest in peace.70.108.117.53 (talk) 04:47, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Since the crime was never prosecuted as a hate crime, it would seem to me that adding such information would be injecting personal belief. I'm sure the prosecution felt that the motive for the murder was the taunting, not the fact that she was a Catholic or a woman. Maaron (talk) 10:01, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I removed POV information yesterday. This is a basic rule of Wikipedia. You need sources for any claims that may be disputed. --Moni3 (talk) 13:31, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
it's still a hate crime because she was killed for her religious views. the prosecution's beliefs don't mean anything, those are the same people who believe OJ is innocent 2804:6A00:F017:2200:19:5ACC:C622:658A (talk) 20:24, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
