The introduction says "was the Queen of the United Kingdom", it should say "was the Queen consort of the United Kingdom". Link is correct. 49.181.167.119 (talk) 09:39, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

template. DrKay (talk) 09:55, 13 November 2022 (UTC) - The usual terminology of histoy has been that the Queen of a country was the consort of the king, whilst queens who were actual rulers are referred to as queen regnant. Ender's Shadow Snr (talk) 18:14, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
The redirect Mary, Queen of the United Kingdom has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Readers of this page are welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 March 15 § Mary, Queen of the United Kingdom until a consensus is reached. SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:58, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- As a standalone formal title, it would have to be “Mary, Queen consort of the United Kingdom”, although for recognisability, the option of Mary, Queen consort of George V is better.
- People should not create dubious redirects for the sole purpose of blue links for effect for their arguments. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:20, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Just for the sake of transparency, the argument referred to in that comment was made during a debate in March 2023. The redirect was created in October 2022. In other words, nobody was trying to make their arguments effective by creating that redirect five months in advance. Keivan.fTalk 05:20, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- it may confused people between Mary of Teck and Mary III who was Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland, and I would feel it improper to have this redirect to Mary of Teck Jord656 (talk) 22:32, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- Who the heck is Mary III? We have articles on Mary I of England and Mary II of England, but there has been no British monarch with that name since the 1690s. Dimadick (talk) 09:29, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Queen Mother
editShould this section be changed to from Queen mother widowhood? I tried to change it myself but was reverted Jord656 (talk) 06:39, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
- 'Queen mother' seems to cover the period in that sub-section. DrKay (talk) 16:04, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
- No because there would be no point in such a change. She was a queen mother as the mother of Edward VIII and George VI. Just as Alexandra of Denmark was a queen mother to her son George V and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon to her daughter Elizabeth II. "Queen mother" refers to her position not her title. Mary not May?
editAm I missing something here? 143.159.228.181 (talk) 07:35, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Her name was Mary, but she was familiarly known as May. The early life section covers this.Ponsonby100 (talk) 10:20, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Asking of someone with a user account.
There are two mentions of the 1889-1890 pandemic that call it an influenza pandemic. This is now controversial as there is evidence it may have been a coronavirus instead.
1) Six weeks after the announcement of the engagement, he died unexpectedly during an influenza pandemic.
Please change this sentence to: Six weeks after the announcement of the engagement, he died unexpectedly during a pandemic.
2) However, Albert Victor died six weeks later, in a recurrence of the worldwide 1889–90 influenza pandemic.
Please change this sentence to: However, Albert Victor died six weeks later, in a recurrence of the worldwide 1889–1890 pandemic.

Edward the Nazi not identified as such. He was forced out because he was a Nazi. Wallis was the occasion, not the cause.

- No. Lots of people in power liked the Nazis. It was American divorcees they didn't like. DrKay (talk) 06:43, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
