Masaru Satō → Masaru Sato – This subject gets 286 (101 deghosted) post-1980 English-language Google Book hits. Of these, no relevant hits use the macron. See also allmusic, New York Times and Los Angeles Times. A title in not the place for a fresh transliteration from the original language.
