Occupations

edit

Contestant occupations should not be written with a capital letter for every word. According to WP:Manual of Style/Biography#Titles of people, "titles should not be capitalized when being used generically". According to MOS:JOBTITLES, "offices, titles, and positions ... are common nouns and therefore should be in lower case when used generically". What was done in previous articles is WP:OSE and has no standing here. We follow Wikipedia guidelines, not the style guide of Network Ten. WWGB (talk) 10:34, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

    • You got it wrong the MOS is only used for sentence structure format not in the tables. Again some of the second and third sentences of their occupations of the mc pages are upper cased. TristanQuinn (talk) 12:13, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Re "the MOS is only used for sentence structure format", what is the source for that? The MOS applies across all Wikipedia articles. And we do not follow the Network Ten style guide on Wikipedia. No consensus here to use upper case for every word. WWGB (talk) 12:19, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't also justify on the occupations that the second or third sentences are lower cased. there is no proof. Some discussion agreements may not be permanent at all it can change anyway. WP:STANDING WP:CCC TristanQuinn (talk) 12:42, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
None of those links make any sense. We are not discussing "consensus", this is about the Wikipedia manual of style. If you think you are right, then find other editors who agree with you. Per WP:ONUS: "The onus to achieve consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content". WWGB (talk) 12:54, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I read the MOS:JOBTITLES carefully it also did not have proof on tables as well. Again, All the descriptions only used for sentence structure content only. You did not believe everything as it said. If you had read it fully, there is no exact proof that it has happened on tables as well. That is not an excuse. TristanQuinn (talk) 13:36, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
”The onus to achieve consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content”. Where is the consensus? WWGB (talk) 13:50, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Still there is no proof that to lowercase second sentences on table exists.TristanQuinn (talk) 14:25, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Bickering

edit

@Wa$hingtonFTFan26:, @TristanQuinn:: Please stop your incessant edit war on various MasterChef articles. It is disruptive and annoying. You keep reverting each other, often on trivial differences like "did not have enough acidity" versus "lacked acidity". Please use proper edit summaries, and also take your differences to the talk page for discussion and resolution. If you think a particular expression is better, please explain why in the edit summary or talk page. Do not just keep reverting because you think you are better. If you keep going the way you are, it is likely that an admin will lock the article, which means the whole community will suffer. Thanks, WWGB (talk) 04:50, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sabina turned 22 so we should update it. Username taken420 (talk) 07:56, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

No, we use the age on the series website.[1] WWGB (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Should the week's themes be based on what the show uses or more accurate, user-created ones?

edit

@TristanQuinn I would like to gain some consensus on whether weekly names or themes should be based on what is used by the show and network or, instead, be a user-created, potentially more accurate name.

For context, this refers to whether the episode and ratings table should list Week 11 as "Uluru Week" or "Northern Territory Trip". "Uluru Week" is the term used by the show, network and media[1][2] when referring to the week's theme while "Northern Territory Trip" or "Northern Territory Week" are not used on the show or media, instead being created by a user. The main reason given for this is that "uluru is only a location in the northern territory" and that the challenges took place in other locations.

However, in previous tables the week name listed have been the same ones as those the show and its official website used. Happily888 (talk) 12:30, 29 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

It seems that the entire NT experience consisted of one show at Uluru and one show at Simpson’s Gap, so neither “Uluru” nor “week” is entirely correct. We are not here to parrot the Ten publicity department, which is not an independent source. WWGB (talk)<

Elimination chart edits: Also list Linda, Depinder, Elise, Brent, Aaron, Kishwar, Tom, and Eric for Immunity Win in week 5. Include Wynona, Maja, Tom and Eric for the Mystery Box win in week 7. In the bottom row, split up Minoli's and Scott's elimination into two cells, Minoli on top of Brent. Santkart (talk) 20:48, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: Please provide the update chart you'd like to use. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:25, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

In the grand finale, after Round-1 and Round-2, Kishwar's score was 51 and Justin's was 50. Change Justin's score to 50 and Kishwar's score to 51. Source: MasterChef Australia, Season 13, Episode 60. Rifat Raiyan (talk) 15:27, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
