Matthew Doocey → Matt Doocey – I see Doocey being referred to as 'Matt' instead of 'Matthew' with increasing regularity and thought to test whether there is agreement that this has become the Wikipedia:COMMONNAME. Schwede66 22:48, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. No evidence offered supporting the move. Suggest the nom read WP:RM#Requesting a single page move: Note: Unlike certain other request processes on Wikipedia, nominations should not be neutral. Strive to make your point as best you can; use evidence (such as Ngrams and pageview statistics) and make reference to applicable policies and guidelines, especially our article titling policy and the policy on disambiguation and primary topic. - Comment There is a near identical move request for Joanne Hayes and other editors may want to cast their eye over that discussion before commenting here. Schwede66 21:11, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. Most sources seem to indicate Matthew. Mattlore (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Matthew Doocey → Matt Doocey – I thought it might be time to suggest this move again. General Google searches give 14,200 results for Matt to 5,770 for Matthew. Google News searches are very skewed - 2,440 results for Matt, and only 93 for Matthew. For what it's worth, Matt is used on his Parliament and National Party pages, in Hansard (throughout his tenure) and for his social media accounts. MW691 (talk) 11:47, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
