Lead

1. Mayfeld is portrayed by actor and comedian Bill Burr, who was not a fan of Star Wars: I would prefer if it says "who disliked Star Wars" because that tells about him more accurately. He actually makes me remember of Sir Alec Guinness who also derided the original film despite being one of its principal cast. Anyway, "fan" means the fan base we know, and those outside that group are not effectively haters, which Burr was.

Appearances

2. questioning whether is really as good a warrior his reputation suggests: "whether he is really as good a warrior as his"
3. urging him to remove his helmet. and suggesting: That should be a comma.

Reception

2. Armaan Babu said Mayfeld maintained Barr's comedic stylings, and wrote: "However brief, Bill Barr's appearance left everyone smiling.": There's an error with his name's spelling, which can be corrected.
3. Fatherly writer Ryan Britt said Mayfeld had the best jokes of the episode, made all the more amusing because, as a non-Star Wars fan, Britt said that Burr probably did not even understand the jokes himself.: The phrase "as a non-Star Wars fan" can also be placed after "Britt said that Burr", which I think is better.
4. Nick Mangione of Geek.com wrote "The first hint that this won’t be just ...: Perhaps a colon after "wrote" to be consistent with the rest of the article?
5. Take note of MOS:NUMERAL. For example, Additionally, his costume and backpack with the retractable blaster arm ranked ninth on Screen Rant's list of the ten best costumes in the show's first season. has the 10 spelled out while other occurrences are in figures.

You may follow my advice, although I've already fixed some of the errors I indicated and other very minor flaws I saw. I'm impressed with how the article was faithfully expanded and made comprehensive to cover significant areas of the Star Wars character. Suggestion

Clint Worthington of Consequence of Sound wrote: "Burr’s one of the most unconventionally-compelling performers in the franchise’s history, and his outlook gives us the same moral questions as Last Jedi's DJ, without any of the irritating mannerisms."[1]

Not sure if that would be best added as part of the section about Characterization or to the Reception section? Maybe someone could decide on the best way to add it to the article. -- 109.78.214.194 (talk) 13:36, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

Space Boston

@RallyRaven: (and possibly other random visitors, given it's now a meme) insists on trying to keep in the joke where this character would be from "Space Boston" 2A02:AA13:8100:7880:4903:FBEA:5F26:87A0 (talk) 02:47, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

It would be difficult to do properly and to the standards of an encyclopedia if it has reached meme level but you could potentially still mention "Space Boston" without it being vandalism with proper sources. For example Vulture.com wrote that Mayfeld "implies the existence of a Space Boston, which really adds to the delight of his appearance as an Imperial sharpshooter."[2]

The source of the meme seems to be not Bill Burr and Mayfeld but rather a production error suggesting Star Wars was filming in Boston, when in fact they were filming in Boston in the United Kingdom.[3] -- 109.79.162.177 (talk) 15:43, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Mayfeld's death/stop marking him as deceased.

Although he is legally pronounced dead by the New Republic, this does not necessarily mean it is the end for Mayfeld's character. As long as we know he is alive, he will remain noted as alive.

This is referred to as dramatic irony in writing; when the reader (viewer in this regard) knows information that the other characters (the New Republic in this regard), do not know.
