Clean up the RF

edit

I'm still doing research, but the RF is a much larger family than this article claims.

Also, there's some relevant information on the RF on Mazda F engine.

RF has had turbocharger (RF-T), pressure wave supercharger (RF-SC, and we should really have an article on the pressure wave unit), direct injection (known as DITD, with turbocharger), and common rail direct injection (RF-CDT, also MZR-CD, with turbocharger.)Bhtooefr 15:19, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mazda also made the Perkins 6.247, and called it the the E4200. Used in light trucks from 1978 onwards.220.240.230.140 (talk) 00:50, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disorganised and lacking information

edit

This article is very disorganised and lacks a lot of information. Lots of lists of things like engine displacement and compression ratios with no information about which engine variants the individual values apply to and when they were made. I do not have the knowledge to clean up, I just found the page to get information which I didn't find.Lkingscott (talk) 10:57, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Lkingscott: I improved the layout a tiny bit - which engine info were you looking for?  Mr.choppers | ✎  15:34, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks. The most significant 3 lists:
Inline-Fours there's a list of engines with displacements and code, but nothing to say when they were made and whether most of them are current or historic types. Furthermore, this list in the Inline-Fours section does not include the RF which is explained in more detail subsequently. It's next to useless information, unless someone already knows something about the engines and the codes.
The main infobox, there's just a list of displacements bores and strokes, with no relationship to each other and actual engines and when or whether they are still made.
Inline-Six section has a smaller but similar list to the inline four lacking information.Lkingscott (talk) 10:06, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
