Didn't Wayne Rogers ("Trapper John") leave M*A*S*H before McLean Stevenson? McLean may have been the first actor to die, but he wasn't the first to leave.
Nope, McLean Stevenson was the first to leave the show. The final episode of the 1974-75 season titled ""Abyssinia Henry'" was McLean's final episode of M*A*S*H as he had decided to leave the show. As fate would have it, it was also Wayne Rogers' final episode as well, however, he decided not to return after the season was over. So, if looking at it strictly as "which was the last to appear in an episode of M*A*S*H", it could fairly be argued that both McLean and Wayne left at the same time as their final episodes were the same one. However, McLean did announce that he was leaving 1st.

Cardiac Arrest
is not a cause of death. A heart attack, an arrhythmia, a pulmonary embolus, a drug reaction, etc are causes. If you mean to describe one of those, use them. And user BaseballBugs, don't tell me "Don't start". if you have a problem with my edit, use an adult discussion or take it to an administrator.MartinezMD (talk) 23:08, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- I said "don't start" because this nonsense has been broached before. Reliable sources say the cause of death was a heart attack. Your personal opinion does not qualify as a reliable source. And if you edit war over this, you'll wish you hadn't. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:12, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- No one is looking to start an edit war. you however seem to be protecting an inaccurate or incomplete description. All animals with a heart who die have cardiac arrest. All it means is that the heart stops. The sources I can find say he died of a heart attack, which is a cause. I'll back up my revision with a couple of references. Why you are being defensive over a good edit?MartinezMD (talk)
- Because it's wrong-headed and it also reminds me of an edit warrior some years ago, don't recall who, that made the same false claim. Yes, everyone that dies, eventually has cardiac arrest, sure. That does not mean that cardiac arrest itself can't be a cause of death. And if the sources say Mac died from cardiac arrest, then that's the way it is. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:22, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- I can't rewrite a bad source, but FYI it absolutely does mean that cardiac arrest is not a cause of death and it's not legal on a death certificate (I go through it with new residents every year). our wiki article on it and Sudden cardiac death describe it if you're interested.MartinezMD (talk)

- CNN says he died from a heart attack.[1] If you prefer it to say "heart attack" rather than "cardiac arrest", I'll change it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:24, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- I do for the reasons I described before. I was putting in the references when you made your last edit. I'll put them in now.MartinezMD (talk) 23:28, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
