Horror Punk band The Misfits have a song called 'Mephisto Waltz'

Franz Liszt also has a piece called 'Mephisto Waltz' -- perhaps this is where the Misfits got their title?

I seem to recall that the "devil" character that Jon Lovitz played several times on 80s-era Saturday Night Live was specifically referred to as "Mephistopheles" PurpleChez (talk) 18:48, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Does Dr Mephesto from South Park belong here? He’s a parody of Doctor Moreau and shares no similarities with Mephistopheles at all, other than a similar name.

Regarding the item about the Black Butler series: is there an official source that explicitly states Sebastian is a version of Mephistopheles? I'm a casual fan of that franchise and have never heard this before- though it's a valid enough comparison, and I also haven't read the manga in years, so it very well could be from a late chapter. If it is, though, might be good to cite it.Karmicanna (talk) 19:22, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Glass Beach mentions Mephistopheles in the lyrics of their song "bedroom community";

"She laughs so hard I watch her lose her balance, fall over backwards

To the arms of Mephistopheles"
