Final car produced

Redo

I redid parts of the article, adding this and that and deleting some. I think most of us agree that this is no place for dealer anecdotes concerning model emblems or for inserting whole, most probably copyrighted articles on MB motor sports, interesting though it may be. Any further help here is welcome; for instance, additional data on the North American cars (EPA ratings, for one), for which I do not have sources. Also, I separated the general model history from the North American history. Most articles on imports are so biased, as if the world ended right behind Normal, Illinois - but to be fair, on other wikis it´s just about the same thing. --- Concerning the above: My printed source also says the last SL was red; probably they´re exhibiting some other silver "last" car in the works museum for us unerudited dudes, since silver is such a nice match for the Silberpfeils? --328cia (talk) 03:16, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Merge with SLC

I put the notice up, first of all the SLC-class is wrong, the classes in 1970s were only one - the S-class. Besides the article covers both vehicles comprehensively. Car brochure in references section

Hi Everyone By the way, I thought that if anyone has a brochure from the time of any of these 2 models, it might be a good idea to either link to a place you can purchase or view them in the references section of the article, or, even just add in some of the optional and standard equipment for each market if anybody knows what they are. Might not be necessery really but I think that it would really round off the article nicely seeing as this is obviously a Classic car and really deserves all the original manufacturer material. Model names – nbsp or (really) no space needed

I think the model names are properly written without a blank in the middle: "450SL" not "450 SL" (in other words, no space before the "SL"). This is how they appear on the back of the car, for one thing ;-). Yes, the "variant" ones with, say, a "5.0" after them do need a space before that (ideally, nbsp). At the moment, on this Wiki page, *sometimes* there's a space and *sometimes* there isn't. And they are being broken when lines are wrapped (you can see this in the first list of all the models, near the top). -- thundt (talk) 15:32, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
