Possible deletion?
editI have created a page for Mercier-Ouest. Since Mercier is not a neighbourhood in Montreal, can we simply delete this page? -Mars2mogwai — Preceding undated comment added 17:03, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Merger (2020): Mercier-Est + Mercier-Ouest

Merger proposal
editI'm proposing the merger of the Mercier-Est and Mercier-Ouest pages into the existing Mercier page. All three of the pages have very minimal content and little potential for expansion and could be put into categories on the larger Mercier article.
Note that Mercier-Est and Ouest are poorly defined neighbourhoods, within a larger neighbourhood, with a borough, within a city. It seems unnecessary to have articles about them. Hochelaga and Maisonneuve don't have separate articles, for instance.
I will proceed with the merger in a few days. ---StevenBjerke97 talk 21:32, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
Merger Update
editNote, I just proceeded with the merger.
A large section of the Mercier-Est page consisted of a poorly written, mostly unsourced paragraph about a potential social housing project (that has since been cancelled and was never built). I didn't include it.
Everything else including all images were merged. ---StevenBjerke97 talk 19:34, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Post merger discussion
edit@StevenBjerke97: You missed an article, Longue-Pointe, that should also be merged. -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 11:05, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Battle of Longue-Pointe has additional historical information, though should not be merged; rather sourcing that info and adding the historical fort and region info to here. -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 11:15, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Municipal history of Quebec has additional information, see "Parish of Longue-Pointe" and the Town of Longue-Pointe that was founded from it, and Tetraultville; that could be copied over -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 11:27, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- For some unknown reason, extensive information about Montreal Island's Longue-Pointe region and parish is included in Long Lake (Saint-Alban) which isn't anywhere close to Montreal. -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 11:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
