Diameter - 5.5 or 9 km?

edit

Someone recently changed the original diameter of 9 km as found in the Earth Impact Database to 5.5 km which is the observed diameter of the lake seen in overhead imagery. I'm thinking we should stick with the 9 km, as the size of the crater may be larger than what you see visibly, and trust the EIDb on this. Or if we do leave it as 5.5 km, then the list of impact craters in Europe should be updated to the same value. --GregU 21:03, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I've added the 9 km back with a reference that states that it is an estimate of origin rim diameter. I've left 5.5 km as the diameter of the present lake. Zamphuor 03:15, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Just added a note to all the crater tables explaining that the stated diameter is generally estimated pre-erosion diameter. Zamphuor 03:36, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mien craterMien (lake) — Mien is better known as a lake than as a crater. It should be moved to either Mien (lake) or Lake Mien. AC 428 (talk) 20:21, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
