Talk:Military-style semi-automatic firearms

"Known in the United States"

edit

"Military-style semi-automatic firearms in New Zealand are those semi-automatic firearms known in the United States as "assault weapons"."

There is not a singular legal definition for "assault weapon," in the U.S., and there is especially no public consensus. This sentence is, at best, unsubstantiated and should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.31.31.125 (talk) 22:58, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

April 2011 Amendments

edit

There is currently some back-and-forth on the amendments (see the "awesome fishing and hunting" forum and paintball.net.nz), with proposals being submitted. Concerns have been submitted that this bill may be used to classify *any* weapon (regardless of action type) as a MSSA. Neftaly (talk) 01:48, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 13:09, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Can the use of the term "reform" in the section regarding the 2019 ban be considered POV? BFeely (talk) 17:37, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
