Hello you will see I have reinserted this important list of Iranian personages. I would be grateful if you could create pages for each of the key ones and incorporate papers, article references, photos etc. to make this a more informative and encyclopedic site.

Please would the Wiki team rename this page to Premiers (Prime Ministers) in Iran (Persia)(1699-1907)as the current title is misleading, unhelpful and clearly contain syntax errors. This list was originally contained on the page that is now entitled List of Prime Ministers of Iran and was removed under the pretext that the closest Farsi equivalent term to 'prime minister', that is nakhos-vazir was only created in 1907. However, this seems rather strange an interpretation - as noted on Wikipedia page Vizier "In Muslim Persia, the Prime Minister under the political authority of the Shahanshah was commonly styled Vazīr-e Azam ('Supreme -, i.e. Grand Vizier'; alternative titles include Atabeg-e Azam and Sardār-e Azam), and various Ministers held cabinet rank as vazir, including a Vazir-i-Daftar (minister for finance) and a Vazir-i-Lashkar (war portfolio)."—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ostaad (talk • contribs)

You're welcome to go ahead and do the copyediting yourself, same as any editor. But please advise, as I have no expertise in Iranian history: why is the title misleading? Do historians of Iran, when writing in English, mainly use different terminology? If so, please provide some links demonstrating the mainstream usage, so that the article can then be correctly renamed. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 10:17, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Why since 1699?

The office of grand vizier (premier) of Iran (Persia) was not created in 1699. There are lots of grand viziers before 1699. Some of these figures are mentioned in List of Safavid Viziers. Shfarshid (talk) 09:18, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
