Notability

edit

I'm not seeing support for a stand-alone page. Maybe redirect/merge into Never Trump?E.M.Gregory (talk) 13:51, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

You might want to bring this up at Template:Did you know nominations/Romney's March 3 Speech. You could discuss it there or redirect the discussion back here. FallingGravity (talk) 18:58, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

What do you want as evidence? People are still talking about the speech and its aftereffects. Look at this Wall Street Journal story or this Deseret News article or this Boston Globe piece, all from within the last few days. Indeed, there is still talk about Romney as a third-party candidate, see this Bloomberg News piece and others like it. That wouldn't be happening except for the March 3 speech. Merging this into the Never Trump article would be unwise, since it would overweight that article towards Romney. Wasted Time R (talk) 10:50, 28 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mitt Romney's March 3 speechMitt Romney's 2016 anti-Trump speech – The current name gives no context to the content of the article (besides who gave the speech). March 3 of what year? What was the subject? The most important parts of the speech were that it was anti-Trump and occurred in the context of the 2016 election. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:23, 25 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge

edit

A year has gone by, and this subject matter is clearly not notable enough to stand on its own. I would suggest merging it into either Mitt Romney or Stop Trump movement. Jdcomix (talk) 18:02, 9 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

I agree it should be merged to Mitt Romney (where it probably deserves a paragraph). The notability of this speech has failed the test of time; there is no sustained coverage. If a merge proposal is ever made, please ping me. --Levivich 16:53, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
