Firefox OS
editThere is some repetitive material pertaining to Firefox OS that should be condensed. Some of this material is listed under Current OS's despite having been discontinued.

UBports
editthere are no mentions to UBports yet - it’s based on Ubuntu Touch — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8A0:ECAB:9E01:94C0:27BA:4F4E:5D04 (talk) 19:47, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Shouldn't Replicant be listed?
editIt's actually based on LineageOS. From their own site: "Replicant uses LineageOS's source code as a base. It is rebranded to provide the Replicant look and feel (wallpapers, logos) and parts of the code are reworked to remove anti-features that can spy on the user. Most importantly, Replicant does not include any of LineageOS's proprietary components (programs, libraries, firmwares) and instead provides free software replacements for some of these. The rest of the system is also adapted so that the free software replacements can run correctly." [1] Etrapani (talk) 17:53, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

By Q1 2018, over 383 million smartphones were sold with 86.2 percent running percent running iOS.[1]
editIs that correct? That seems backwards and the source that it is linking to is invalid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.231.170.7 (talk) 20:53, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Timeline not “better as prose”
editThe section Timeline was tagged on 2020-04-13 at 05:11:10 by @RJFJR: with a box saying it may read better as prose. I think that would only make it worse. There is indeed a lot of information there, but the list format at least makes it easier to pick out information by month and year. If one wished to make it easier to pick out developments by other criteria, a sortable table would be better. The example at MOS:PROSE shows how a list of skyscrapers may be improved by adding other information in prose format. In this section, however, there is little information beyond dates (months), phone brands, OSes, companies and features, and that is probably just as well: otherwise there would be even more to wade through to find what one wants to know. - Done. I agree with your reasoning so I have removed this template. Anton.bersh (talk) 15:29, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Split info about Android "skins" or "launchers" into a separate article
editThe majority of content by prose length in this article is just a listing of Android "skins" or "launchers" shipped by default by some phone manufacturers. These are not actually operating systems, they are just glorified wallpapers. Users can easily install custom launchers from app stores, so it makes no sense to list all launchers in this article. Also, the article is over 150K long, well above recommended 100K article size recommended by Wikipedia:Article size. Anton.bersh (talk) 07:55, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Worldwide smartphone sales (thousands of units)
editThe table called "Worldwide smartphone sales (thousands of units)" is obviously there only to advertise BharOS. They didn't even bother matching the fake BharOS numbers with the years in which this "operating system" actually existed on this planet. Shouldn't this joke of a table be removed? 94.177.32.157 (talk) 14:24, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
