Discard where?

If you have more than 7 cards at the end of your turn, you have to discard. But this page says you should discard to the bottom of the draw pile. I find that weird because that way you can "control" the bottom of the draw pile. Also, the FAQ page said that you discard onto the play pile. Discard wherever you desire, but in any situation it wont matter, unless you are playing with too many players. The number of each card is balanced quite well and will always result in a winning player before the end of the deck so long as you abide by the other rules, Such as, being able to use a 'theft' card on wild cards etc. I've seen people play where you cannot 'sly deal' a full-wild card, but this is contradictory to the rules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.68.15.154 (talk) 20:46, 24 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Both the game manual and the quick rules state that more than 7 cards should go to the bottom of the draw pile. Although this is poor design, it's the official rules. Other games would tell you to put in on the discard pile, or shuffle the draw pile. Speaking of that, this page states that in the eventuality of the draw pile having no more cards, players should shuffle the play pile and use that as the new draw pile. But this is not dictated by official rules. Orphaned houses and hotels

There is no clear treatment given to houses and hotels which become tied to less than a full property set or are detached for some reason (including replacement of a house with a hotel).

Edit by Don: You do not replace a house with a hotel card. You stack a house on a hotel card.

Houses and hotels can't be tied to non full property sets. Also, you can freely attach as many houses or hotels in a full property set, unlike the board game. 201.37.161.146 (talk) 18:50, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • If a house/hotel is on a property set,
    • there is no clear treatment as to whether it can (and whether it must) remain a house/hotel when paid to other players (rationale: it was not played into the bank, and if considered property, property always remains property)

Edit by Don: If you use a hotel/house (and you MUST do, before using the property it sits on) you are DESTROYING THE HOUSE/HOTEL to provide funds to pay your Debt. The house/hotel becomes MONEY and cannot be reverted.

  • If the underlying property set gets broken due to property reorganization or payment to other players it is unclear whether
    • the house/hotel still has rent enhancement effect for the remaining properties
    • remains a house/hotel (property) which may be attached to a full property set:
      • later
      • only if immediately attached
    • may/must be placed into the bank
    • may be stolen by forced or sly deal either by itself or by stealing the property it is on

Edit by Don:

1) You cannot pay a debt with a property inside a set that includes a house. You MUST pay with the house FIRST. 2) You cannot re-organize a set that includes a house/hotel WITHOUT REPLACING THE REMOVED PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. - This means you can re-organize your properties so long as you can replace any property with another property in that set. You cannot have an orphaned house or hotel. 3) A house cannot be stolen by a sly/forced deal because it HAS TO be part of a set(also, it's not a property, it is a modifier card). It CAN/MUST be stolen as part of a 'Deal Breaker' if no 'Just say no' is played.

All these suggestions are personal preferences, the game rules does not cover these situations. As for the 'Deal Breaker' statement, that's true. When you deal break, you have to take the whole set, including wild cards, houses and hotels. 201.37.161.146 (talk) 18:50, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Double double rent

Apart from the 'Just Say No' card, which is clearly documented that can be used over another 'Just Say No' card, there are other cards which could be cause of debate. For example, does a second 'Double Rent' card doubles the rent doubled by a first 'Double Rent' card? Reduced Editions

Similarly there could do with a section on reduced editions of the game (promotional, given away free at supermarkets) - there's one edition out there with 52 game cards, 2 instructions cards and a brand card which was given away with purchases at Morrisons in 2014. sheridan (talk) 14:41, 10 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
