New name?

edit

Is it now the New Movement for Socialism? --Againme (talk) 23:14, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Worker's Socialist Party (Argentina) into Movement for Socialism (Argentina)

edit

The two articles describe the same topic under a different name. Vexations (talk) 15:33, 27 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oppose, given that the 1976 Argentine coup d'état breaks the two, and they seem to be significantly different before and after; it also looks like there is a time gap too. The articles are sufficiently linked that readers won't miss links between the two pages. Klbrain (talk) 00:09, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Nuevo MAS included?

edit

Here is where people can discuss whether the NMAS should be included in this article, without resorting to edit warring. I'll note that the claim that it's the same group is currently unsourced; if it's going to stay, it needs a source saying they're the same group. Floquenbeam (talk) 16:49, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Floquenbeam, I found a book about Argentinian feminism which states the following (on page 52);

They participated as “women of the new MAS” (the new MAS was formed in 2001), and their objective was to analyze the role of women and campaign for their rights. (...) Paola, who is a student of Social Communication at the National University of Quilmes, has been active in the new MAS since she was fifteen years old. Her mother and father have been activists of the old MAS (...).

Thus, NEW MAS (founded in 2001) is not the same as the old MAS which was founded in 1982 (and dissolved in 2003). What adds to the confusion is that the New MAS was sometimes refered to as only 'MAS' in the beginning.2001:2020:329:BE90:E879:A9BC:169:4892 (talk) 08:47, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
