editI suggest to move the article to Muhammaed Yasir Ahmed Taher following the New York Times and other secondary sources: [1], [2], [3], [4]... IQinn (talk) 00:00, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

explanation
editInitially I reverted this edit as the first screenful contained an annoying error. The guy is dead. The template {{birth year and age}} will only give an accurate age for him for the year of his death. If not corrected, without any obvious sign it was incorrect, for every year after his death it would grow more and more inaccurate.
But as I did a diff, to doublecheck my corrections, I saw dozens of unnecessary edits to the article's metadata.
There is a pinciple in engineering, usually phrased as "if it is not broke, don't fix it."
A lot of those unnecessary edits were to the article's citations -- which already worked perfectly. The best rule for {{cite}} templates? Edit them as little as necessary, because unnecessary edits erode the utility of the history mechanism. In particular, don't add or remove line endings. When I edit another person's {{cite}}, and it is in the all fields on one line, which I personally hate, I leave them all on one line. And I feel entitled to expect the same restraint from other contributors.
Originally all the article's citations had the names with the surname last. When I start an article I always place the surname last because I think the use of surname first is only useful on paper documents. On an online encyclopedia it is better for readers who want to check for a particular surname to use the browser's search function. The contributor who made the edit I reverted put all author surnames in surname first format. That is a lapse from the advice of wikidocuments. Worse, the authors whose names were wikilinked? They removed those wikilinks. Carol Rosenberg's name, in particular, should retain her wikilink, because her coverage of Guantanamo is so important for the overall story. How are readers going to use the "what links here" feature to see which Guantanamo articles referenced her work if someone goes around removing these important links?

- @Geo Swan: My mistake with the age.
"if it is not broke, don't fix it."
– It was (and is again) broken and needs fixing. You reintroduced blatant errors (visible on the page in red text) in the references. Also,
.|author=
should never hold the name of more than one author|authorn=
are meant for organizational authors and|lastn=
/|firstn=
for individuals. As far as links go, linking Carol Rosenberg is overlinking since Rosenberg is already inked in the article, and IIRC, the others were red links. Using WLH is not an accurate way to track citations to an author's work. — JJMC89 (T·C) 06:22, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
