5x expanded by Brynnams (talk). Self-nominated at 16:44, 28 October 2020 (UTC).
- This article is a recent expansion but is not quite long enough. On 22 September 2020 it was 1191 characters whereas now it is 4710. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. Both hooks are no doubt true and are supported by the sources you give above, but the DYK criteria require the facts to be included in the article in a sentence with a citation at the end. Adding this extra information should enable you to expand the article sufficiently to meet the length requirement! No QPQ is needed here. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:16, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: The nominator is a student editor and has not edited since November 4th. As the course doesn't end until December 12th, there's still a chance they could return, although they did not respond to an earlier talk page message. I have left a final message for them, but if they are still unresponsive, the nomination may need to be closed as abandoned. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- It is unfortunate that the course requirement seems to be to nominate the article at DYK but not to follow the nomination up until the hook appears on the main page. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:42, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: There has been a spate of these nominations and it has been disheartening given the high failure rate among student nominations. Hopefully something could be done about it, particularly on the Wiki Ed side of things, because it's simply not a good look for the project and these failures could further discourage students from improving their work. - @Helaine (Wiki Ed) and Ian (Wiki Ed): Could either of you please contact the instructor? Neither the student nor the instructor have edited recently and issues raised above remain unaddressed. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:47, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: I apologize for my delayed response. I added a sentence to the lead that mimics the DYK I wrote. Brynnams (talk) 01:13, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- I just reached out to the professor. Thanks for letting us know. Helaine (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:36, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
