So please, American Patriot 1787, let a Frenchman who knows about art such as myself edit the article. You can better employ your time editing the 'American football' or 'Lady Gaga' articles.

Look, I'm 67 years old, I'm retired now but made a living many years as an art broker and gallerist. I had a gallery in Paris then Montréal. It's hard for me to keep finding the way to make the edits and then replying everywhere to attacks and now more so that the wikipedia display has changed so much. I will just point out that not all the thieves steal for money. Some art lovers steal for the love of art and it's pretty common. The same way some people are willing to pay millions for one work some people are willing to risk spending time in jail just for having an specific piece. It is much more likely that than someone wanting to use paintings as collateral for drugs or arms trade. Someone else might be fluent enough in english to point it out and reference it. It was pointed out already that the pieces are very difficult to be sold.
Thanks so much, —Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.152.199.63 (talk) 19:48, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Picture
editDo we have any other picture of them, or are they all scrible. That would be helpful. Enlil Ninlil (talk) 08:39, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
No lies, please
editThe museum is being stingy with the details. The truth is that they are closed because of the theft. Technical reasons is an excuse and a vague explanation. That would be like saying the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. Yar'Adua, will not be attending the dinner due to medical reasons. Yes, medical reasons, he's dead.
An editor wrote "removed quotes around "technical reasons". As it is, makes it look like we are questioning the validity of the closure". Yes, we are. To be the most neutral we can write that the "museum is closed citing 'technical reasons' ". Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 21:09, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- We can't make a judgment on why the museum says it is closing. We have to literally report what the museum says. If a third party editorial in a newspaper says "we think it's because of the theft" then we can cite that. Remember, kids, Wikipedia:V WhisperToMe (talk) 22:36, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Paintings' Value
editThe BBC and other British media are reporting that the value of the art stolen is estimated to be as much as €500 million, not €100 million. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.4.46 (talk) 16:39, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

"I put the new name of the museum (Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, cf : http://www.mam.paris.fr/) changed in 2019 for the reopening of the museum. I can't change the title of this article, could an administrator do this please ?"
So I am requesting it on that user's behalf, unasked. 178.164.248.238 (talk) 14:15, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
