The result of the move request was: Move. We have consensus that this isn't the primary topic and should be moved. Mykines, Faroe Islands seems to be the most preferred option, but if a better title emerges we can move the article. Cúchullain t/c 14:44, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
Mykines (disambiguation) → Mykines – The Faroe Island settlement of 14 people doesn't strike me as any more notable than the Greek location of Mykines, the modern settlement of ancient Mycenae. This Greek region gave its name to a language and an entire historical era. So I suggest that the main "Mykines" page is the disambiguation page. Oncenawhile (talk) 16:19, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support - Between these two i don't see a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. InsertCleverPhraseHere 02:17, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Comment this is an improperly formatted multimove request, or an invalid deletion request. What is to be done with the article occupying the destination? -- 70.51.46.39 (talk) 07:21, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Good point. Might I suggest Mykines → Mykines (Faroe Archipelago)?. InsertCleverPhraseHere 07:30, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Or Mykines, Faroe Islands, an existing redirect? PamD 09:53, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Comment There are other islands in the Faroe Islands, which have only one village and the village and the island have the same name, in the English Wikipedia the Island gets the name and the village gets the name of the village , name of the island, i.e. Svínoy (island) and Svínoy, Svínoy. Another example is Nólsoy and Nólsoy, Nólsoy. If we should do the same with Mykines island and village it would be Mykines for the island and Mykines, Mykines for the village. --EileenSanda (talk) 13:59, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I think I misunderstood the proposal, you mean that there should not be any disambiguation page? And that the page Mykines should point at the Greek settlement Mykines, Greece? Hmmm I don't know. Mykines island is one of the most important turist destinations in the Faroe Islands. Mycenae the ancient settlement of Greece is much more know, but it the modern town of Mykines of Greece also one of the most important places for tourism or in other matters? If not, then I think that if you have no redirect, then the page should point to the Faroese island of Mykines. --EileenSanda (talk) 14:29, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- The Noms point was that because there is no primary topic between the two, the base name should be the dab page, with both the others disambiguated. InsertCleverPhraseHere 14:50, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support move of dab to base, and Move island to Mykines, Faroe Islands In ictu oculi (talk) 11:44, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
