Naghadeh (Persian), Naghaday (Turkish) ;Naghadah(kurdish) it is a small city and lies about 23 km southwest corner of Lake Urmia ( West Azerbaijan province of IRAN ) 1,300 metres above sea level . Foundation of Naghadeh dates from 1750 -1752 when an azerbaijanian tribe called gharapapakh migrated from northern azerbajanian region (ghafghaz) and settled to soldooz ( a turkish name that means : a flat and fertile land with plenty of water resources inside ) . Little is known of its history but in ancient times there was some arian civilization there especially in hasanloo , a rural town 10 km northeast to Naghadeh. Also tribes Kurds began migrating to naghadeh from the mountains of west Asia (now IRAQ) during these times .
Gharapapakh , the largest ethnic group of Naghadeh's turks , make up about 74 percent of city's population. Naghadeh has several cultural and recreational attractions like yeddi_goz and sultan_yaghoob Also there is two universities : payam noor and Azad free university .
Region economy greatly depends on agricultural products , also cattle and sheep are raised both for meat--lamb and mutton--and for wool, so enough meat - wheat - corn - and dairy products available to feed its own people as well as for export to people in other cities . Region farmers also raise apples, grapes, tomatoes , potatoes , onions, peas, and other fruits . The high farm production results from the fertile soil and the use of modern machinery and scientific farming methods.
