List of published games

edit

I'm sure that Bandai Games put out the original 4 .hack games. The (English) name of those games are as follows:

.hack//Infection Part 1

.hack//Mutation Part 2

.hack//Outbreak Part 3

.hack//Quarantine Part 4

This should probably be added to the list Jon Fawkes 02:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I believe that this topic is supposed to be for games released under the Namco Bandai label, which only fairly recently became so. Games released under the Namco name or Bandai name separately would probably not fall into this category.

This article is about the holding company. With the establishment of video-game specific Namco Bandai Games Inc., it would be better Namco Bandai Games article created. Soredewa 11:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Group Structure

edit

This is Soredewa. at 08:46, 5 June 2007 you 211.9.62.81 modified

From: Although the operations are coordinated by SBUs, North American companies are held through the regional holding company, Namco Bandai Holdings (USA) Inc.

To: Although operating activities are coordinated by SBUs, North American companies are managed through the regional holding company, Namco Bandai Holdings (USA) Inc.

Can it be verified? It is more likely US holding companies are for legal and accounting convenience, and the management activities are not through the US holding company. Otherwise the strategic business units are hard to make sense.

Provisionally I choose to undo your edit because the older revision was verified. If you have a good reason please feel free to answer me.

Namco Bandai vs. Bandai Namco

edit

Did Namco Bandai ever publish a reason why its logo is upside down (Bandai on top)? --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 00:59, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Creation of two seperate articles

edit

This article seems not to clearly differentiate between the Bandai Namco Group and Namco Bandai Holdings, which is only one company of the group. I think think this page should only talk about the entity Namco Bandai Holdings, Inc. and a second article about the conglomerate Bandai Namco Group should be created. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 22:59, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

First sentence

edit

I think the first sentence should be reworded. It sounds like Namco Ltd. and Bandai Co., Ltd. merged to become Namco Bandai Holdings Inc. which as to all sources I know is untrue. Bandai as well as Namco still exist as seperate companies. It seems more like NBH is a newly created company that subsequently acquired Bandai Co., Ltd. as well as Namco Ltd., thus transforming these two companies into subsidiaries of NBH. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 19:35, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is also stated in lead section "officially, Bandai purchased Namco". I don't exactly understand what this is supposed to mean. Also it does not cite a source. Finally I think it is simply wrong, as both companies (Bandai and Namco) were acquired by the newly established holding company and now are both subsidiaries. Maybe Bandai provided the majority of funding capital for the holding company and thus could be considered a takeover of Namco. But as no source is provided confirming this, I think this should be deleted. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 19:57, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I deleted the sentence "Officially, Bandai purchased Namco; however, both companies have equal power in group decisions." as it 1.) does not cite a source and 2.) is simply wrong. Namco is not a subsidiary of Bandai Co., Ltd., both are subsidiaries of Namco Bandai Holdings, Inc. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 00:27, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I propose merging this article into Bandai Namco Group. Please see the talk page there for further details. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 19:26, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

This merge proposal seems to be the final step in a unilateral process carried out by a single editor to rename this article the way he wants it. See that talk page for the history of my objections to the unnecessary split that is now resulting in this "merge" proposal. Ham Pastrami (talk) 03:33, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
If I remain the only person who thinks Bandai Namco Group is the more general subject than Namco Bandai Holdings, Inc., I am willing to start moving the content in Bandai Namco Group to this article and nominate the Bandai Namco Group article for deletion. Maybe it was the wrong decision to create the group article at all, I am really unsure at the moment. I should have proposed the creation of the group article on the talk page before proceeding with it. I still think the group is a more general subject than one single holding company. I also commented on this issue on the group articles talk page. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 16:58, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Content moved

edit

I added content from the Bandai Namco Group article that is relevant in my opinion to this article and nominated that article for deletion. I can only say I am sorry for the trouble I have caused through the creation and wrong valuation of the group article I created. It has never been my intention to undermine this articles legitimacy. I simply thought that the article about the whole group would be the more accurate place to present this information and I still don't see why for example information about elements of a conglomerate (the Strategic Business Units) should be in an article about only one company of the whole conglomerate (even if this company represents the management of the group). It still is only one "aspect" of the more general subject of the conglomerate it belongs to. But again my opinion regarding this issue may be faulty. Tamashii Nations

edit

I think Tamashii Nations should be included as well (Hobby SBU?) since it's formally the Bandai Collectors Division. (70.71.121.7 (talk) 10:24, 5 January 2011 (UTC))Reply

The organization of the company needs a urgent update

edit

I'm trying to make a update but alone I can't do. Bandai Namco Holdings changed it's organization for some months and no one besides me tried to change it so I need some help to make some changes there. Here's the link as the proof: https://www.bandainamco.co.jp/en/about/grouplink.html#toyshobby
