2015 Elections

edit

The edits reflecting the 2015 election results are wrong. Venezuelan system is not parliamentarian, so the fact that the opposition parties (the MUD) won a majority, does not now make them "government". The Venezuelan system is presidential, so although the PSUV now only has a minority in the Assembly, they remain "government", and the opposition now has a majority in the Assembly.

No dissolution of the National Assembly

edit

There is no dissolution of the National Assembly and there are no reports in trustworthy media about it. None of the two sources cited speak of a dissolution of the National Assembly. The Washington Post explicitly states: "The fate of the 2015 chamber, dominated by anti-Maduro factions, has yet to be decided." 123 (talk) 20:12, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Also the following bit of "information" is false: "The Venezuelan Constitutional Assembly took over the Federal Legislative Palace on the same day ejecting the members of the National Assembly." And again the quoted source says the exact opposite: "La Asamblea Nacional continuará sesionando y trabajando desde el Palacio Federal Legislativo en defensa de la Constitución y la democracia." ("The National Assembly will continue to have its sessions and work from the Federal Legislative Palace ...") 123 (talk) 21:19, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have removed references to dissolution and ejection from the article. Whoever posted it is clearly peddling fake news. Cordyceps-Zombie (talk) 13:13, 5 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Infobox subtitles and normalization

edit

A discussion involving this article has been started in the 2020 Venezuelan National Assembly Delegated Committee election article talk page. --Jamez42 (talk) 21:53, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

2020 election already happened

edit

The infobox currently states:

Last election 6 December 2015
Next election 2020

However, the 2020 election has already happened on 6 December 2020, so it no longer belongs to the "Next election", but to the "Last election". The infobox should reflect that. 193.198.162.14 (talk) 12:35, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Outdated lede

edit

The lede still reflected events of the IV legislature. I have removed the outdated paragraphs from the lede. However, some events from the Venezuelan presidential crisis still deserve to be added to National Assembly (Venezuela) § Legislative history. --MarioGom (talk) 20:21, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Missing Reference

edit

The named reference ":10" is missing in the subsection National Assembly (Venezuela)#2020 contested leadership election.

The section was copied from 2020 Venezuelan National Assembly Delegated Committee election by ReyHahn on 14 January 2020, 12:12.

The intended reference is possibly [1], which is the reference in the original article 2020 Venezuelan National Assembly Delegated Committee election#Opposition election.
