Talk:National Register of Historic Places listings in Knox County, Tennessee

Untitled

edit

Per my discussion with others, I have transferred the list of historic places from the Knoxville, Tennessee, page to this page. For those not involved in the decision, Knoxville is comparatively old by US standards (founded 1791), and has an extensive list of historically significant structures for a city west of the Appalachians. The general consensus was that the structures do not belong on a page listing general information about Knoxville, but would be better suited on a page that architects, history buffs and local residents may want to access. (I initially added the list to the Knoxville page, so I was not moving someone else's work when I relocated it. I also created most of the stubs for the residential listings.) I have basic architectural information on the rest of the structures that I have listed, but have not created the stubs yet. That will follow later, as well descriptions of each category. I hope to take some photos in Knoxville this summer to add to the individual pages. Perhaps a historic preservationist can contribute more detailed information on each listing. --Baxterguy 16:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm trying to figure out the listing/de-listing history of Lebanon-in-the-Fork Presbyterian Church. It burned in 1981. The nationaregisterofhistoricplaces.com site has its listing date as 1983 (which would have been after it burned), although its entry number (75001764) suggests 1975. Perhaps it was de-listed in 1983, but I can't find anything on the NRHP's main site. Bms4880 (talk) 23:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
