Nexenta OS is the first distribution that combines the GNU C library and userland with the OpenSolaris kernel

Nexenta OS is the first distribution that combines the GNU userland (with the exception of libc
One of them is wrong. --Norayr (talk) 10:47, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Probably a silly question, but...
editWe always add Turkish page link here but someone removes it for two days. We can't see who removes it in the history. Also on Turkish Wikipedia, Nexenta page also is being removed by someone. The Turkish Wikipedia team can't find who is s/he. Can we get any explanation for this? Heartsmagic —Preceding comment was added at 01:26, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
...how does this:
- Nexenta OS uses Ubuntu ... as its base
reconcile with this:
- Nexenta OS is not based on Linux
- Ubuntu ... is a widely used Linux distribution
? Loganberry (Talk) 01:16, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Linux is the name of a kernel which was also applied to the variant of GNU which uses Linux. Ubuntu Linux consists of much more than just a kernel! If you look at it from this POV, you don't get confused :) -- mms 02:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- In that case, the explanation in the article is not clear enough. As will be obvious, I am no expert on this, so maybe you or someone else with more knowledge could do some editing there? To the general reader, the text as it stands is confusing. Loganberry (Talk) 23:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks fine to me. If there's confusion, it's because Linux hijacked GNU, with users of the Linux kernel renaming the entire OS to Linux, and Torvalds having too big an ego and too little respect for those who build the OS he was using to even be willing to compromise on the issue.
- The wording in the article is pretty obvious, even given that context. Nextena is BASED upon Ubuntu but doesn't use Linux (is not based on Linux.) --Squiggleslash 18:50, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Illumos
editApparently Nexenta OS have been discontinued in favor of the new Illumian OS which appears to be made by a merge of the nexenta and openindiana development teams.
As Illumian replaces the two remaining Illmos operating systems it both articles should be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.126.89.248 (talk) 01:29, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
new version 3.1.2

I got to this page from a list of D&D races.
editI'm fairly certain this has nothing to do with Dungeons and Dragons. Did something get linked by accident?
This is the page I came from to get here. I clicked on Illumian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.219.82.210 (talk) 17:18, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
