Normally dogs are my thing, but I'll make an exception. ;)
Joking aside, I'll give the article a read through now and add any points or queries below. If there's anything relatively minor I'll quickly fix it myself. Miyagawa (talk) 19:41, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
I've done a few copy edits to it, but tried not to change anything significantly different - if I've changed anything inadvertently, then feel free to reverse it.
- Lead: The long-haired cats Siberian and the Turkish Angora are also possible ancestors to the breed. - I think it would flow better if the "cats" was simply removed. reworded. --Tea with toast (talk) 04:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- History: "mountain-dwelling fairy cat with an ability to climb sheer rock faces that other cats could not manage." - needs to have a citation directly following it.
- I believe the reference would be Ref#7, the book by Claire Bessant, but I do not have access to that book. Hopefully, there is another editor who does. If the quote can not be confirmed, we should remove it. --Tea with toast (talk) 04:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- The final paragraph in history is very short and should be brought into the bottom of the previous paragraph. --Tea with toast (talk) 03:58, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Breed description: The final paragraph and table of images can be broken off into a separate Health section. --Tea with toast (talk) 03:58, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- References: Reference 8, 10, 12, 20 needs a publisher location - same goes for the second and fourth books in Further Reading. (worldcat.org makes it easy) Reference 21 needs to have the same formatting as the others. Done. --Tea with toast (talk) 03:14, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
That's all the points I've got for now. Looks good, and not too far away from GA. Only concern I have with the content is what will be a rather short health section - I know from experience that some breeds (albeit dog breeds) just don't have much health information. Is there any information on more common cat ailments related to this breed (for instance with dogs, there's usually information available on hip dysplasia). I note that there is the average age in the lead - this needs to be repeated in the new Health section.
Happy to take a further look once these points are address, going to place the nomination on hold for now. Miyagawa (talk) 20:21, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I have gone through this and made a number of copy-edits to improve the reading fluency, and reduce the number of short sentences which (I felt) made it a bit 'choppy'. Hopefully this is OK with everyone. Pesky (talk) 06:38, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks - I'd noticed that too but didn't want to overburden the editor with a massive initial list. Miyagawa (talk) 16:54, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Just had a further read through and it all looks good - happy to mark this up as a GA. Miyagawa (talk) 16:56, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
