Opposein order to keep in-line with Ebebiyín. This spelling discrepancy should have been covered at the last RM 14 months ago. Current spelling issued e.g. here. GiantSnowman 16:48, 11 November 2020 (UTC)- @GiantSnowman: Actually, Ebebiyín should be also moved to Ebibeyín per [7] ("Welcome to Ebibeyin" says the entrance sign to the city). Also, per [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], among much other sources. "Estadio de Ebebiyín" does NOT exist. If you went to the stadium located at the article geographic coordinates, you wouldn't see that name at any part of it. Instead, you would see "Estadio de Ebibeyín".--MonFrontieres (talk) 23:39, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: The official name of the city is Ebibeyin.[13] That's the name you'll find if you go there.[14]--MonFrontieres (talk) 23:42, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: I hope that all these sources (of various origins, and with various images of the city) I brought you are enough for you to change your vote. I have more sources otherwise. The important thing here is to respect the local writing. This case is not the same as the Ivory Coast one. "Côte d'Ivoire" may be avoided (and be translated to English) because it is in French, despite Ivorian Government desire that all languages use the French form to refer their country so. Meanwhile, "Ebibeyin" is a Fang name which has no English translation. If it did, it might not be "Ebebiyin".--"MyBorders" (talk) 02:12, Sunday, December 1, 2024 (UTC)
- I suggest you start a RM for Ebebiyín and if there is consensus to move that, start RMs for related sub articles (the cathedral, the stadium etc.). GiantSnowman 09:55, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Update. The city article name is now Ebibeyin.--MonFrontieres (talk) 23:03, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Then support move to Estadio de Ebibeyin. GiantSnowman 18:37, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
