editThe term "Nyquist criterion" is commonly used in two entirely different and (as far as I know) unrelated ways, one referring to the 2f samples per unit time Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, the other to the Nyquist stability criterion, a technique for determining the stability of a linear, time-invariant system by studying the system's Nyquist Plot.
The fact that there are two common uses of "Nyquist criterion" may not be known by those whose education or work has led them to the study of one of the two criteria, but not both.
Because of the dual definition, I suggest that this page, Nyquist_criterion, should be changed to a disambiguation page rather than a redirect.
I will make the change if after a reasonable period of time (several weeks) I find no objection here or on my own talk page user_talk:dratman. Dratman (talk) 02:27, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
