Fair use rationale for Image:Ofi.gif
editImage:Ofi.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

OFI Crete → OFI FC — The club's official name (see official website). --Relisted. Armbrust The Homunculus 19:27, 15 March 2014 (UTC) 13:50, 7 March 2014 (UTC).
- Oppose. No evidence that it's a better article name. The website doesn't count for much as anyone who has read the policy would know. Andrewa (talk) 03:13, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose per Andrewa. Official names in themselves do not make for convincing arguments. Xoloz (talk) 16:15, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved. Unopposed for 11 days and move rational makes sense. (non-admin closure) Natg 19 (talk) 22:57, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
OFI Crete → OFI Crete F.C. – The article is about the football team of OFI Crete. OFI Crete has also Basketball and Volleyball teams. This page about the football team must be moved to OFI Crete F.C. and the article OFI Crete should refer to multi-sport club. See also the Greek wikipedia about this issue Odythal (talk) 19:04, 30 November 2015 (UTC) --Odythal (talk) 19:04, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

The issue with the name
editHello!
There is only one other OFI (OFI Ierapetra) and that other club is also a Cretan club, so Crete in the name is controversial.
Besides, any Greek knows the reality of the Greek South, and how nationalists and localists have taken advantage of such things: there are many incidents this has been used to claim only one Cretan OFI.
The issue in Greek is actually only when referred orally, because there is a difference in the initials written (one is ΟΦΗ and the other is ΟΦΙ, even though both sound the same), and for that OFI Ierapetra is used when talking about the other club.
It's true "Crete" has been widely used along the initials, as OFI is the most successful club from Crete, and is considered the pride of Crete (seems to also be part of their official website now), but I think it would be best for the reasons stated before to avoid using it, i.e. as there can be confusion with the other Cretan club and for the political effect it also has.
So, I suggest the name OFI F.C. instead, as they are the rightful owners of the initials, i.e. as the first and oldest club with OFI on the name (OFI Ierapetra for the other club with the same initials to be used), which is also how it's used in Greece, both orally and in the media (when they are not referring to the club as OFI Crete), or, if that cannot reach to a consensus, I would recommend the usage of OFI F.C. Heraklion or OFI F.C. Iraklion instead.
Kind regards!
