Updating infobox & members to align to style guidelines
editI think there is some incorrect info in the infobox that I'd like to correct.
I think the "Associated Acts" section should be removed entirely. As far as I know, none of the acts currently listed meet the requirements for inclusion as associated acts per the guidelines.
The inclusion of "Dark Chocolate Dan" instead of "Dan Rincon", and Quattrone's "Bioharzard" nickname as current members appears to be defacement; same for "Beef Yeastworthy" in former members. I think these should be removed (and Dan Rincon added as a current member). Someone left an edit note claiming to contain details about Beef Yeastworthy's membership, but I cannot find any record of this person's existence online. I think it's made up.
There are also a few cases of members' names being hyperlinked to other bands they have appeared in. I propose these should be removed. Why should Paul Quattrone's name hyperlink to !!!, when he was also a prominent member of Modey Lemon? Same for Tim Hellman being a member of both Sic Alps and Ty Segall's band.
I'm also unsure how I feel about the caption of the top image. Should the caption use their current name, or the group's name at the time the picture was taken? I'm unaware of the guideline for this, but was thinking that "Osees (then known as Thee Oh Sees) performing in 2010" could be a suitable middle ground. Currently the caption uses a name which is neither the name used currently or at the time of the photograph, which I think is certainly incorrect.

I have made the changes discussed above (plus some word-smithing).
Removing extraneous content
editAs much as I love the Osees (and I really do), I think this page is a lot longer than it needs to be and includes numerous details that are only of interest to committed fans of the group. I am interested in working to improve the concision of the article. Please help out if you're interested. TimberToner (talk) 21:04, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- I am partway through a re-draft of the lead section and History sections. Hoping to post this weekend. This will be a WP:BOLD change, but I am hopeful it will lead to major improvements for the article.
- Major changes include: trimming lead down to two short paragraphs which explain (1) the band's notability and (2) the band's current composition, and significantly shortening History into three sections that are each ~2 paragraphs each and which do not go into excessive detail about each band member and release. - Took me a lot longer than anticipated to get this drafted with what I felt was an appropriate balance of detail vs. concision, and high-quality references. I just submitted a very WP:BOLD change that implements all of the improvements I've noted here. I would really appreciate any editing help or feedback on the new article.
