Page improvement
editFor anyone interested in improving the Ohio Army National Guard page, I recommend you take a look at the Kansas Army National Guard page as a suggested format for state-level ARNG pages. User:CORNELIUSSEON and I worked out a first-draft stub page for Alabama, and I have extended it through approximately the K's of the alphabet to date. Kansas is the latest form of the 'improved template.' Feel free to use any/all of the material in your page. Look at my recent edit history for a lot of other NG-related pages. Further updates
editI've been trying to find information out from the OANG webpage but they've redesigned it in clunk-o-vision and removed the page where it identified all of the units they had in the state. I'd like to be able to add the images from the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry, but cannot seem to convert from .gif files to the requisite ones needed here in Wiki. Thanks
editI just want to say thank you to whoever is doing the NG state by state pages. Right now, most of them take you back to the NG main page. Since it appears the same person is doing this, I would suggest making the 'order of battle' a bit easier to read. I read these originally as I wanted to see what divisions of the army the various guards fell under. Anyway, keep up the good work! user:Pzg Ratzinger
Kent state shootings
editI think an article should be added to briefly describe the events of the Kent State University shootings,in which OANG was obviously a key part. it would have to just outline involvement to maintain NPV, and should have a link to the main article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tealwisp (talk • contribs) 03:19, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
I totally agree. Kent State was the spark to one of the most massive uprisings in American history and this is really neglected in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.42.130 (talk) 04:40, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
See Also Kent State Shootings
editI think the See Also Kent State Shooting article should remain. The Kent State Shooting is an event of tremendous national significance in which the Ohio Army National Guard was a significant participant. Anyone seeking information about the Ohio Army National Guard in the 20th Century will want to know about the Kent State shooting. "only state National Guard to have killed American citizens"
editThis is an factually incorrect statement. Americans have been killed by the Guard in civil disturbances both before and after the Kent State shootings. For example, American citizens were killed during both the 1965 Watts riots and the 1992 Los Angeles riots by the California Army National Guard. For this reason I am going to delete the sentence from the article. LCpl (talk) 14:06, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
