Map and Argentina

edit

The current map at the top of the page seems to emphasize Asian Infrastructure Bank members as BRI members, but the more conventional understanding of MoU signatories is the map down the page. What do people think about changing this?

Additionally, Argentina is listed as having withdrawn from BRI. I think someone confused its intent to not join BRICS with withdrawal from BRI, unless I have missed something. User:Wikipetia4 (talk) 19:25, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

No you are right, argentina has not left the BRI, not sure why it is listed there. Hasayo (talk) 05:01, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Commentary

I know Epoch Times is not considered a good source; nevertheless, it does have an interesting critical article: https://www.theepochtimes.com/article/the-ccps-1-trillion-geopolitical-weapon-is-failing-5545377?src_src=uschinanoe&src_cmp=uschina-2024-01-12&est=vh3g81S39r9V3tTdVN5JZnSdqdHafPaQ3Vkt4YhRB4fZDD2lILxYv%2BJh6lJJIQ%3D%3D , 2605:A601:A91A:3000:FD81:5756:A4D6:A432 (talk) 17:31, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Estonia

edit

According to the Estonia Foreign Ministry, Estonia did not to renew the Belt and Road Initiative Memorandum and the memorandum expired on 27 November 2022, so Estonia is not a member of this initiative any more. 2001:7D0:8436:5900:64EA:E0A9:35F2:E492 (talk) 16:19, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bhutan's stance

edit

The article states that Bhutan has expressed interest in joining the BRI, but no independent source has confirmed it. The only citation mentions the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statements. However, Bhutan is yet to take a stance on it and contrary to the Wikipedia article, the cited article mentions that Bhutan did not attend the summit in China despite an official invitation extended to them.

I think that Bhutan should be removed from that list, if you would like to add something to my suggestion then do reply on this thread. Xoocit (talk) 21:14, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. This should be removed. I just tried to do so via mobile but it looked like I was going to create a formatting error. JArthur1984 (talk) 21:46, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
