Talk:Oxygen depletion

Latest comment: 18 years ago by Davidruben in topic Suggested merger with Hypoxia (medical)

Also: There is a very POV statement in the last paragraph along with a link to an article in the German Wikipedia that I did not remove. I figured that all of that could be taken care of in the merge. gK ¿? 06:23, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I started working on fixing the poor English problem, but then discovered (as you did) that the Hypoxia (water) article is covering the same material. I'll work on getting them merged. - Marshman 20:55, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC) I'm inclined to keep "oxygen depletion" and merge in "hypoxia" - Marshman
Also a lot of redundancy with Dead zone (ecology) article, although there I am inclined not to try a merge - Marshman 22:34, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I know this is very minor but should there be a link to the depletion stub on this page? - Shiftchange 22:56, 26 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The depletion stub is a definition and should not even be in Wikipedia (see Wiktionary). The linkshould be removed. - Marshman 04:10, 27 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hypoxia or oxygen depletion

edit

The correct term for this phenonemon is hypoxia. Why do you choose for oxygen depletion ? GerardM 18:58, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maybe because it also include anoxia. The definition here for "hypoxia" is not the same as oxygen depletion - Marshman 19:03, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image not displaying

edit

Anyone know why the first image will not display. It appears to be present in Wikipedia and displays elsewhere? - Marshman 19:10, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Other uses for Hypoxia

edit

Why is this article specific only to a water environment? Is the term 'hypoxia' not also used to describe a lack of oxygen in the human system as well? Such as high altitudes? 68.92.147.72 04:09, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

indeed. GerardM 07:38, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Suggested merger with Hypoxia (medical)

edit

I was surprised to see that these two pages are separate - it seems to me that they describe essentially the same condition, just in different organisms. I reckon it'd make sense for them to be merged.

I have adjusted the merger tags of both articles so that they both link to discussion on the same talk-page - please goto Talk:Hypoxia (medical) David Ruben Talk 22:27, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
