RNZAF P-3 Photo

edit

This photo [1] in the article seems to have come from a flight simulator, but is given a description as being a New Zealand P-3 in operations over the Pacific. Maybe a different photo should be used? Fox 3 (Push to Talk) 16:26, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to the real source it was taken by the RNZAF on 17 July 2016 so seems genuine as it says "Royal New Zealand Navy Photo by Petty Officer Chris Weissenborn". MilborneOne (talk) 16:34, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
That said I am not convinced it is in the public domian. MilborneOne (talk) 16:39, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Rocket ordnance

edit

The specifications show no rockets, but include nuclear weapons.

When I was flying in P-3A's and P-3B's in the late 1960's, we could and did routinely put 2.75" rockets in pods on the wing hard points. I believe 5" Zuni rockets were also used, but cannot attest to it personally.

See this link.

Should that be added? They are probably not used any more, but neither are the nukes. Mesodude (talk) 00:14, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
