Typographical error, or... a true catalog called ABEL?
editI have discovered a rather rare catalog called ABEL, for the globular clusters of the Palomar series. For example: object NGC 6717 is known as Palomar 9, and... also known as Abel 9. Now, who was Abel? Was it a typographical error in the name of astronomer George Abell? Or was there indeed another astronomer called Abel? If so, this could be interesting information for the article! DannyCaes (talk) 21:05, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
