Problem with article title: why Northman?

edit

Using an edit-search, I can find no instance in the article, other than the title, where the name "Pam Northman" is mentioned, explained, nor linked to the other surnames this character is known by (Ravenscroft & De Beaufort). My viewing of the HBO series recalls no connection with Eric's last name.

Is this just a "hold-over" from overactive-user HGraphite's two page moves on 29June10 of LilyLuna's original Pam (vampire) page? (HG aka "Ally" & "Gabi H." made almost 200 article changes in one day — and is now banned from editing.) Does someone else savvy in "page moves" need to create a corrected page title? (I'll leave a note on BCullen1's talk page, being a major contributor to the page.) Thanks for any clarification. — DennisDallas (talk) 11:24, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Novels versus TV show confusion

edit

The article is written mostly from the perspective of the novels, and the first paragraph describes her first by her name in the novels, yet someone has made the title of the article her name in the TV show. I believe this article should be titled "Pamela Ravenscroft" not "Pamela Swynford De Beaufort" to keep things consistent and to recognize the fact that the novels are the original work and the TV show is derivative from them. I'm afraid I don't know how to make the change myself. Critterkeeper (talk) 19:48, 20 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Critterkeeper's concerns — it is unclear which "version" of the character Pamela to reference because of the title of the article and the television adaptation is derived from the book series. Bofriflu (talk) 03:15, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
