Moved. See agreement below that the current title needs to be changed. See two suggestions for new titles, Persecution of Degar Peoples in Vietnam and Persecution of the Montagnard in Vietnam, with no consensus for either name. So I get to choose. Almost decided on Persecution of the Montagnard peoples in Vietnam; however, "Montagnard" means "people of the mountain", so "Montagnard peoples" is redundant. At present, let's go with the latter of the two suggestions, Persecution of the Montagnard in Vietnam, due in part to the result of this requested move. In accord with closing instructions, "while consensus has rejected the former title (and no request to bring it back should be made lightly), there is no consensus for the title actually chosen. And if anyone objects to the closer's choice, they may make another move request immediately, hopefully leading the article to its final resting place." Persecution of indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands in VietnamPersecution of Degar Peoples in Vietnam – The title is too long. It's moved by User:Poundofdonuts (a sock puppet of User:Accopulocrat). "indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands in Vietnam" is a original research name. i think it should be moved back. • Mimic wherever the Degar article ends up. I see that one had two undiscussed moves. Maybe this should be litigated over there? In any case, per my comments at Talk:Degar#Degar_vs_Montagnard, I think there's a strong case that this should be at Persecution of the Montagnard in Vietnam and the main article should be at Montagnard (Vietnam), so tentative support the Montagnard variants. I am not an expert here, though, merely mimicing that among US communities, "Montagnard" is by far the preferred term of self-identification, but I don't know what the situation is in Vietnam itself. (I agree that "Indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands" is weird and made-up.) SnowFire (talk) 16:22, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
