editPham Xuan An was a student at Orange Coast College [community college] in Costa Mesa, CA, where he studied journalism from 1957-59 and was on the staff of the newspaper, the Barnacle. His instructor the first year was Thomas Burdick. This is confirmed by the OCC yearbooks. This addition has been made by a former classmate from 1957-58. Several obits have erroneously stated he studied in Fullerton, CA, and one erroneously says Fullerton College. See also RFA article from 2005 by Dan Southerland. A biography was published in Singapore a few years ago, but doesn't show up now on web searches. Perhaps someone can locate it? --—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.46.196 (talk • contribs) (copied from main article)
- Larry Berman wrote a biography of An titled "Perfect Spy: The Incredible Double Life of Pham Xuan An, Time Magazine reporter and Vietnamese Communist Agent." D.E. Watters 00:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
nothing about spying

some of what he accomplished is put into context by this battle. Ap Bac The reference to "Perfect Spy" in Orange County blogs doesn't seem workable so I added book to references.Hmose (talk) 19:03, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
The New Yorker link seems dead as well. Tweak them? Delete them? Hmose (talk) 19:32, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
faulty English
edit"After the fall of Saigon, he was interrogated by the Communists and put under house arrest after that to ensure he had no contact with Westerners and was him of being "corrupted" by capitalism after decades of living in South Vietnam as a spy." - What does "was him of being" mean?Kdammers (talk) 13:04, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
