Wikipedia is about facts, not opinion
Bijuis, you cannot expect Wikipedia articles to exactly reflect your opinion on the subject. It has to be factual based on sourced information. The page was evolved from scratch as and when people added bits of information based on sourced information about Pinarayi Vijayan. If you want changes to be made, discuss it first. All will be open to discuss and make changes to the sourced information if any, based on consensus. Remember, like you removing any information criticising in nature, somebody can fill the page with negative opinion about him. But Wikipedia is not for that. When you want sourced information to be removed, discuss it first. Otherways, all your edits/reverts will be reverted immediately. 121.241.67.226 (talk) 07:53, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

- Please don't remove sourced material. See Wikipedia:I just don't like it. You seem to be operating what amounts to a single-purpose account which is in conflict with all other contributors to this article. William Avery (talk) 08:57, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Have removed "Corruption charges" from the subtitle and kept it as "Controversies", like in similar articles (for example, V.S. Achuthanandan). Also "party worker" in the last para is changed to "youth" as in the reference. Discuss here if that is not fine and don't indulge in edit wars. Jojukavalan (talk) 08:06, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Attention IP user 121.241.67.226, you cannot remove trusted references and statements based on trusted references. This is not acceptable. Only removal of references from rival political group publications can be justified. Unless there is a valid reason, your edits will have to be rolled back. Further intentional edits will be reported. Please cooperate. Wikipedia articles are meant to provide information on people, not for attacking people whose ideology we might not like - then wikipedia will turn to a warfront. Snehaav (UTC)
- Snehaav, see what you have done on 19th June. You just have blanked a full section of the article, which was based on articles in national newspapers. Reproducing your words in the previous comment - "you cannot remove trusted references and statements based on trusted references" - don't you think you should practice it before preaching? 121.241.67.226 (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 04:11, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Pinarayi or Vijayan
In this article, this person is referred to both as Mr. Pinarayi and as Mr. Vijayan. Should there not be a standard? Most Malayalam newspapers refer to him as Mr. Pinarayi. It might be good to place a name tag at the top of the page to avoid confusion, as the system in most of the world is to use the last name in formal situations. For example, see the article on K. Kamaraj. Jose Mathew (talk) 14:23, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

Comments from Bijuis
I am not editing the article for propaganda. If you observe the edits initially, I was explaining both sides of events and making it impartial in nature. But there are few anonymous users who edits it for a specific agenda. Such malign attacks need to be controlled and articles need to maintained with impartiality. Please help in achieving this. Please check the versions - you can find that both praising (i see one of them) and bad comments (see too much of them) have been added by anonymous users.

Popularly called as Captain
https://indianexpress.com/article/india/pinarayi-vijayan-kerala-cm-assembly-elections-7257638/
Pinarayi is popularly called as captain, added the same.
Before removing must has to discuss and make concise here
- The lead mentions he is popularly known as Captain in Kerala Politics. There is no mention in either of the sources you mentioned whether this moniker is popularly used to refer to him. The Times of India merely writes about his transformation from just a comrade to a captain, due to his administrative acumen and crisis management skills. The Indian Express mentions that the left faced the election branding Mr. Vijayan as 'captian' although it is later stated by a party leader that such a title was never bestowed by the party. Election campaigns using such populist titles to refer to some of the leaders are very common in India. Neither of these links has any mention of him being popularly known as "captain in Kerala politics." On the other hand, there is a more popular title used to refer to Mr. Vijayan which is eratta chankan (one with two hearts). Telegraph even writes that Mr. Vijayan is "often called" by this title. Should we include that in the lead as well? These titles are very common for several Indian politicians. Unless the monikers are particularly notable and are always used to refer to the respective politicians, like in the case of J. Jayalalithaa (Amma, Puratchi thalaivi), these shall not be mentioned at all in the article let alone in the lead. Moreover, there also exist several titles bestowed by his rivals as well. Popular among them include "mandrake" which was even recorded in the minutes of an assembly session. Should that be included as well? I am removing the sentence from the lead for now. Please wait for other users to respond here and reach a consensus if you want to add it back. Malayala Sahityam (talk) 21:02, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
whose cadre revered her as their "Amma" (mother) and Puratchi Thalaivi (revolutionary leader).
This is what jayalalitha lead says. Maybe you hold are from another party who don't like to add that in lead. That's why you are arguing.
I don't understand, even when national medias took the title, why can't we add in wikipedia page.
' He was called as Leader within the party circles.[13]'
This is from karunakaran wikipedia.
Ok i don't agree in saying pinarayi as Captain in kerala politics, but can say as popularly called as Captain within party circles by the party cadets, these can be definitely added and no wikipedia policy violated.
- Titles such as Amma, Puratchi thalaivi or Kalaignar are very frequently used by media to refer to the respective politicians. Just a simple google search of any of these titles gives enormous results. A few articles from this week such as Kalaignar at Stalin’s coronation!, Tamil Nadu assembly election result: MK Stalin - Emerging from Kalaignar's shadow do not even use the leader's name but just refers to them by the moniker (Kalaignar in this case). It's not right to compare Pinarayi Vijayan's "captain" moniker with these titles. Apart from a few initial news reports on LDF's election victory, none of the media refers to Mr. Vijayan as captain. If you check any major Malayalam newspapers from the last five days, there is not even a single mention of the specific term "Captain Pinarayi Vijayan". Whereas, a google news search gives you several results for the specific term "Captian Vijayakanth" referring to Tamil politician Vijayakanth. So, titles such as Amma, Kalaignar or even Leader which have been established over several years and frequently used by media to refer to the policians is not the case with Pinarayi's captain title which was coined as part of the election campaign and seems to have already been forgotten. Anyway, as both of us are not in agreement on the matter, I would wait for other users to respond.Malayala Sahityam (talk) 22:48, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- To say that he is popularly called captain, you need multiple sources (preferably scholarly sources) that specifically say he is known by that name. Not just some news reports on the election victory with exaggerated headlines. You had also made a personal remark on my political affiliation. Although it is immaterial here, you can find my political affiliation from my user page.Malayala Sahityam (talk) 22:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Pinarayi Vijayan
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Pinarayi Vijayan's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

- He and his daughter received 1.72 crores from CMRL as payout as per the Income Tax Interim Settlement board. Apparently CMRL has mentioned that the amount was paid for smooth functioning of the company. Since the CM heads the environment and IT ministries and CMRL being a company that does Rutile mining causing widespread environment hazards, this amounts to treason. 103.121.27.98 (talk) 09:32, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
