Plectorhinchus picusPlectorhinchus picapicus is the specific name used by Fishbase, which wikipedia follows, but the name should be pica which is a noun meaning "magpie" rather than an adjective, Catalog of Fishes, Fishes of Australia and ETYFish all use pica and ETYFish says of the specific name "magpie, probably referring to black-and-white color of juveniles, similar to the color of the European Magpie, Pica pica [often incorrectly treated as an adjective and misspelled picus]", so when the genus was change from Diagramma to Plectorhinchus the specific name should not have changed gender Quetzal1964 (talk) 15:16, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Move - This seems a reasonable rationale to deviate from FishBase. Adherence to FishBase is a rule of thumb, not an unbreakable rule. William Avery (talk) 20:35, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
