Fair use rationale for Image:Upvvince.jpg
editImage:Upvvince.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Corporate Identity
editPlease rename article to Universitat Politècnica de València.
Official document [1] states that legally the name of the institution is Universitat Politècnica de València. Denominations like Technical University, Polytechnic University, etc. are unacceptable. --Pichote (talk) 06:32, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Requested move 24 November 2015
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved. No support whatsoever, and rightly so, as the proposer does not even attempt to relate the rationale to Wikipedia policy or guidelines. The opponents however cite the relevant policy and practice accurately. Andrewa (talk) 11:27, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Polytechnic University of Valencia → Universitat Politècnica de València – Official document [2] states that legally the name of the institution is Universitat Politècnica de València, and that denominations like Technical University, Polytechnic University, etc. are unacceptable. – Pichote (talk) 09:37, 24 November 2015 (UTC) Relisted. - Pichote, when naming articles on Wikipedia, we are generally unconcerned with the official name of a institution. Instead, the most common name in English-language reliable sources is most often the determining factor. Jenks24 (talk) 12:02, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Jenks24 (talk) 12:02, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose – The current title seems more likely to be used in English-language sources than the suggested title that has a completely non-English words and spellings. See, for example, Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Polytechnic University of Milan, and Polytechnic University of Turin – all of which have article titles that are in English rather than in the local language of the institution. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:39, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose WP:OFFICIALNAME we do not use official names just because they are official. WP:UE This is the English Wikipedia, not the Spanish Wikipedia, use English preferentially. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:17, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
