Cancelled Halo project - Apt. 117
editNot sure how this can be added as I am not 100% familiar with Wikipedias standards on this in regards to cancelled projects. Alas...
I record stuff for Halopedia, and we recorded ages ago a cancelled project that was essentially nuked from the net called Apt. 117. Halopedia article on the project
For those who don't want to click the link, Apt. 117 was a planned ongoing animated show in late 2010 between Powerhouse and 343 Industries which after Episode 1 released was purged for a unspecified reason.
This was a project that 100% existed as per the sources on the article I linked, might be useful for other pages such as the Fantastic Fest article.
I apologise if this is not the right place for this but if this helps in any way I did my part! -CIA391 (talk) 15:26, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @CIA391: Hello CIA! Unfortunately this will not be added because Halopedia is not a reliable source because it can be edited by anyone, same reason as Wikipedia. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:33, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: Hey Blaze Wolf. I was not talking about citing Halopedia for this. (Bad Practice if I suggested that in this case aha.) The sources on the Halopedia article should in theory (I hope) be a lot more better. IE I am saying use the sources we use!-CIA391 (talk) 15:41, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @CIA391: I was not aware there were cited sources. Most of the time fan-wikis such as Halopedia cite very few, if any, sources. Would you mind providing which source you think would work well here? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:43, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: I understand that; to go a lil off topic for 1 min, we at Halopedia try and cite everything. Aim to be reliable and allow users to read sources at their very source. While I agree sourcing us is a bad idea, you lot should be able to nab citations/archive links from us where applicable in the future.
- But back on subject! Here are 4 citations that should do the job (and "might" help elsewhere like the mentioned Fantastic Fest article)
- Source 1 - (Powerhouse discussing the premiere at Fantastic fest)
- Source 2 - (343i Industries announcement on Twitter)
- Source 3 (Trailer link on Halos official side as it was in 2010) (Defunct but available on archive.org)
- Hope this helps! Unfortunately there is no source on it getting cancelled. It just got a trailer, one episode, said it was going to be ongoing... but then everything was removed.-CIA391 (talk) 16:16, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @CIA391: Unfortunately none of your sources are reliable according to Wikipedia's criteria. The first 2 are blogs so they aren't reliable, the second is Twitter (WP:TWITTER), and the third is a WP:PRIMARY source. If another editor thinks sources 2 and 3 (Twitter and official Xbox website) are enough to add this to the article they are free to do so. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:28, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- The blog posts are official Powerhouse Animation Studio posts. They did that sorta news posting before moving to a different format that was more professional looking. But alas those are the sources I have! -CIA391 (talk) 16:36, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @CIA391: Ah ok. That makes them a bit better for sourcing per WP:ABOUTSELF. STill given that those are the only sources you have I'm not sure if they would belong in the article. Feel free to try and search for others using tools such as WP:RSSE or WP:VGSE (second one is specifically for video games) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:39, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
