Cutoff date in June 2007
edit"In June 2007, the priority date cutoffs for employment-based second and third preference (EB-2 and EB-3) applicants, the bulk of employment-based green card applicants, advanced dramatically..." cannot be fact, as this is a date in the future! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.87.49.254 (talk • contribs) ,..
- The visa bulletin is issued 15 days in advance. So the the visa bulletin for June came in mid May 2007. So yes, the statement is correct, the movement was for future Hassanfarooqi 21:21, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Moot point as we are redacting on July 27, 2007. Right now it is in the past. maksdo 00:30, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
August 17, 2007 I-485 filing window
editHassanfarooqi, you have to absolutely positively check your facts before posting ANYTHING on Wikipedia. I hate it when they say, "after I checked with my attorney", or "my mother told me". USCIS DOES accept I-485 applications for EB visas through August 17, 2007 under Visa Bulletin #107 priority date roadmap. USCIS announced it rescinded Bulletin #108, therefore all priority dates marked as being current on the Bulletin #107 are current through the end of Bulletin #107 validity, which is August 17. maksdo 00:30, 28 July 2007 (UTC) Please read here and learn: USCIS, Office of Communications, July 17, 2007 USCIS Update: USCIS Announces Revised Processing Procedures for Adjustment of Status Applications
This article assumes that a priority date only deals with Green Cards. This article is not about a priority date but more about labor and obtaining a green card. This article should reflect why the priority date was created, how it is created in all cases etc. I would write it myself but I don't have all the answers as of yet. It would be nice if someone who knew this could change this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.180.157.12 (talk) 09:41, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Removal "EB2 cut-off dates" and "EB3 cut-off dates" sections
editThe EB2/EB3 tables listed in the article are actually "cut-off dates" for employment preferences in US immigration system which has less to do with the concept of priority date. I don't believe this information is relevant to the article and hence suggests removal. PacmanD (talk) 18:51, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
To non-logged in editors
editIf you are interested in maintaining/improving the "cut-off dates" list for EB, please head over to Visa Bulletin Employment-based Preferences Cut-off Dates, rather than reverting this page to previous versions. PacmanD (talk) 18:45, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
