Name of class and project number
editI no where found name of this new subclass - new build ships are developed from old Burevetnik and then Talwar (thats not Russian but Indian designation) classes. For this time it is unknown real project number (11356 - is designation for export Indian ships) same as class name if any exist. But if exist, the name is with conformity of Russian style only "Grigorovich" class. Design can be "very similar" but lot of changes was anounced (mainly in armament, but in electronic equipment and instalation too). --Hornet24 (talk) 21:07, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- I created this as a new page as Talwar has a page, and it's also derived from Burevestnik. Name style is the same as the Admiral Sergey Gorshkov class frigate, based on the name of the lead ship. The news in the reference calls it "project 11356 for Russia" and the news also says "Yantar currently is building 3 ships of the same project for India". I did not say that the ships are "very similar" in this article, only that it's based on Talwar which in turn is based on Burevestnik. While it's obvious that there will be many changes in the in equipment and electronic, the designs will be quite close. I hope this clears it up.D2306 (talk) 12:34, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- I havn´t problem with creation of this topic. In fact I thank you for create it! I have only some suggestion about theme.
- Admiral Sergey Gorshkov class isn´t Russian designation taked from first ship of class (which name is Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov), because Project 22350 frigate official name is unknown (if exist). Same as Kuznetsov class (which single ship name is Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov) of Project 11435 TAKR official name is "Kretchet". But if we like to have "well-arranged" designation system name of Project 11356(?) frigate can be in most used terminology "Grigorovich" class or by the newer (i never see if it is "oficial") "Admiral Ivan Grigorovich" class
- Project number is different of the 11356 - that is project of export vessels with different armament and electro-equipment. I dont know for this moment what is official project number - i hear too much different numbers (11356B, 11356M, 11356U and 11357). But I really dont know what is true.
- For this moment page not need redirect, but name was "not ideal" --Hornet24 (talk) 14:53, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- I am not sure what the name should be until we find the official type. At least, like with Gorshkov, it's what someone searching Wikipedia can recognize. If there is a consensus, both should be renamed appropriately. I would say keep as it is until a name is released. I understand the project number would be something like "11356U", but the piece of news I used had only 11356 (probably the journalist misheard or wasn't told the full name), which I put down. Thanks. D2306 (talk) 15:02, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

- The blog does not link any official statement, only to "unnamed sources". Not very reliable (please check WP:reliable). So far both the Yantar website and the United Shipbuilding Corporation website talk about 6 frigates.D2306 (talk) 12:53, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
