Contested deletion
editThis page should not be speedy deleted because the article meets wikipedia's guidelines and has many references related to the article. Iamgymman123 (talk) 09:23, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- Article was moved to mainspace contrary to feedback provided at WP:RFF, which stated that the article did not meet the guidelines for notability. Article was subsequently deleted as Pseudonym (Indian Band). Article has been flagged for deletion due to lack of clear indication of significance or importance of the subject. Article additionally does not meet topical notability guidelines for bands. Citations do not provide significant coverage in reliable and independent sources to establish and support notability. - But the article has been reviewed by other administrators who were in touch with me. The deleting user has also told me that it is okay for moving to the main space. The references are also reliable, you can check out Pseudonym_(band)#References, the references are from The Telegraph, The Times of India and Hindustan Times. The article also meets most of the guidelines in Wikipedia:BAND.
- According to Wikipedia:BAND, the band should have atleast one single/album but the band has one EP with three singles and have 1 single released later.
- The sources are also reliable, all are broadsheet newspapers in India.
- The band have played in many national concerts.
- The article also meets wikipedia's standards.
- All the sources are verifiable.

- Rather than respond in two places, I'll just respond here. I have also reviewed the article and the history. Article was moved to mainspace contrary to feedback provided at WP:RFF, which stated that the article did not meet the guidelines for notability. Were you aware that the article is not in compliance with notability guidelines, as well as the Manual of Style? If you need help or have questions with the guidelines, I am more than willing to help you out. When you moved the article to the mainspace, it was subsequently deleted when created as Pseudonym (Indian Band). The article was then userfied to your subspace, at which point, you restored unencyclopedic content and moved it again to the mainspace. I'm puzzled. The article was flagged for deletion due to lack of clear indication of significance or importance of the subject. Article additionally does not meet topical notability guidelines for bands. Citations do not provide significant coverage in reliable and independent sources to establish and support notability. The band appears to have local popularity, plays in a local club, and has garnered local press. The A7 criteria applies when articles do not indicate significance or importance of the subject. Can you let me know why the subject is important or significant? What are the specific guidelines that the article meets that would support inclusion in the encyclopedia? This would certainly help the article. Please note, we do not have an admin "acceptance" process by where an editor rubber stamps a mark of approval ensuring inclusion. If you can provide information on importance and/or significance, I am certainly willing to work with you here. Please let me know what criteria of the topical notability guidelines are met by the band, i.e., WP:BAND. Thanks, Cind.amuse 09:57, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- When all is said and done, why or how is the subject important and/or significant. This needs to be clearly defined and presented in the article. At this point, the Pseudonym is a local band that plays in a local club that has generated local press. The press garnered is not significant. The band has not charted with any albums or singles. They have not released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels. No awards, no radio play, no successful songs or albums. If you can simply indicate importance and/or significance, that would be sufficient to remove the deletion notice on the article. Thanks, Cind.amuse 10:04, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- It was sugessted to me that the Pseudonym (Indian Band) doesnot require disambiguation so I moved it to Pseudonym (band). I agree that the band has not recived any awards but the band has played in many national concerts in India, and it fulfils most of the guidelines of Wikipedia. And in India most of the mainstream record labels ignore rock, but releasing the singles independently does not make them un-notable too, maybe it will not be on Wikipedia, but actually it will exist, and it does exist. My intention was to contriblute artilces related to Indian Bands because there are very less articles related to Bands in India.Iamgymman123 (talk) 10:08, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed the A7 to give you an opportunity to identify significance and/or importance of the subject. This is a clear A7 as is, and would not survive AFD. If the band has played in many national concerts, please provide this information by placing it in the article supported with significant coverage in reliable and independent sources. The sources provided at this point are not significant at all. Work with me here. Cind.amuse 10:17, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for giving me an opportunity to identify significance and/or importance of the subject. I try to find everything possible related to the band. Iamgymman123 (talk) 10:22, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- While you research the band, I will cleanup the article. I am giving this a chance, but this is not eliminate the possibility that it will be deleted by another editor. Has the band headlined major concerts and tours? Anything that would indicate significance? Cind.amuse 10:44, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

- None of these references equate to significant coverage and quite honestly, barely mention the band at all. The band's website concert list does not support a national tour, but rather confirms mere gigs in local clubs. Have you found anything yet to indicate significance or importance of the subject of this article? Anything less will send the article for deletion. This needs to be addressed. I have not been able to find anything that would support notability, so it is essential that if you provide this information, if you wish to retain the article. Thanks, Cind.amuse 12:18, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- They have performed on some radio channel, according to their Bands official site concert List - [6] and thier official facebook page [7]. They have also performed one show in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India on 31st January, 2010 according to their concert list. They play on college fests too. Iamgymman123 (talk) 12:54, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
