Usage - Trips per capita

Concerning the table of total number of trips and trips per captia under the title 'Usage'. The following link contains the number of total trips for 09/10 (which is 34963551, a slight decrease on 08/09). http://www.metlink.org.nz/assets/Statistics/AnnualPeakOffPeak.xls

I have not updated the table, as I am unsure how the 'trips per captia' was calculated for the other years. A quick calculation using the current pop numbers from Wellington (which are 389,700) gives 89.71 trips per captia, which is significantly different to the other figures in the table to give me pause before updating. Can anyone shed some light on this, or provide me with some better data to update the table? - Roue2 (talk) 03:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Further investigation shows that the figures in my link above (from metlink.org.nz) are different for some years to the ones in the table. Additionally, the reference for the table seems to be missing. I'll wait a little bit for any comments before changing the table. I will update the table with the numbers from my reference, remove the 'trips per captia', and probably expand the table to include the additional information in that reference (on peak, off peak, stats by type of transport). - Roue2 (talk) 03:26, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Public transport in Wellington → Public transport in the Wellington Region – The article topic covers the whole region, including the Wairarapa, not just Wellington City, or even just the urban area. It is beside the point, but worth noting, that the proposed name is already the name of the corresponding category. Nurg (talk) 00:51, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Support as any article on public transport in Wellington will need to deal with commuter transport from Wellington City to Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt Cities, the Kapiti Coast, and the Wairarapa. Also the organisations managing public transport do so at a Regional level, which include these Cities and areas. NealeFamily (talk) 07:37, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Lead question

Regarding “It has a well developed system” in the lead: compared to what? What makes it well developed or not developed? Similarly, why is Public transport in Waikato poorly developed? Fork99 (talk) 09:38, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

I've changed the lede to remove the statement about "well developed"~. i am pretty sure it's against the style rules to make vague and unsubstantiatable claims like this, and I also think it was weird to open article on. ideally article starts with "metlink" I think, instead of "public transport in Wellington region ... serves wellington and its surrounding region" Lynxano (talk) 02:42, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Lead image
