This page is only accurate in describing early A.I.R systems. Any system that runs in closed loop only sends air into the exhaust manifolds during startup. Air is then diverted to the catalytic converters. Belchja 04:44, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article move (new title)

edit

I have moved this article from its previous title "Air injection reactor" to Secondary air injection, because "Air Injector Reactor" (and its abbreviation "A.I.R.") were GM marketing names for what is properly and generically known as secondary air injection, per Society of Automotive Engineers standard J1930. --Scheinwerfermann 19:30, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

I remember my dad's California car having the A.I.R. pump in 1967. Which years were they used in California, and in other states? Gah4 (talk) 00:31, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
